So it has been a long time.... I've been quite busy, but this year I am trying to draw something everyday for Inktober. I've just been posting to my facebook page, but I thought I could leave them here too :) so this is days 1 - 11. #Inktober

Painting

I just started reworking a painting that I had never fully finished. I think I am getting to a point where I can finally say it is done... even though I never think any of my paintings are ever really finished haha

Monster Update

This is a more rendered version of my creature walking his pet Bubbles...

Monster

Right now I am working on some monsters :) This is a really rough sketch of one I might go forward with, thought I would share...

Dresses and Laser Guns

This is a quick sketch I did tonight of a girl in... Space! Like I would choose any other setting hahahaha. I haven't decided if I will clean it up and ink as usual, or if I will try painting it on my computer with my new tablet :) I have never had a tablet before so all digital color was done with the track pad on my laptop.

UPDATE:

Here is my first try at digitally painting her :) p.s. I know her hands are derpy, I still need to fix them...

Little Red

Have I ever mentioned I really love fairy tales? This is a work in progress for Little Red Riding Hood. I am not sure how much color I want to do in it, but I think it is a little plain if I just leave the line work. Here it is with just a flat red so far. I will post the finished product later :)

Traditional

I do a lot of my color digital, however for this piece I used colored pencils. Not the most interesting subject ever, but it was very fun, and there is just something magical about taking a line drawing and giving it depth and dimension with all of those pencils. In the future I think it would be fun to render one of my illustration with pencil.

Animals and Tea

Here is an elephant drinking tea, presumably Earl Grey...

Here is a panda drinking tea, probably chamomile...

Here is a giraffe, drink of choice... Chai

Friends with Bows

I really love animals and I really love bows, so here are some animals in bows :)

Finals!!

So it is that time of year again, finals... For my Drawing from the Masters class, I need to do 3 master copies. I get to choose who I think is a master, which is awesome. I am really in love with Marc Davis work right now, so one of my pieces is a copy of one of his concept sketches for Cruella DeVille. I think she is fabulous... Here is my copy

I haven't used marker in a long time. It was fun! Here are my other copies...

Happy Holidays

Since it is almost Christmas, here you go...

Fairy Tales

Seeing as I have been posting all else space related items, I decided to share my Fairy Tales in Space projects I did a while back. I still want to do more, but these two are my finished ones.

This one is Little Bo Peep in Space, her three eyed sheep are no where to be found...

This is Cinderella in Space, longing for an adventure. In my mind she ends up saving the prince and the kingdom... Women can be fierce :) I have a few thumbnails for other stories in space, like Rapunzel and  Little Red Riding hood. If you (theoretical viewer of my blog) have any ideas you would like to share with me please do!

Star Trek

If you know me, you know I love space, and all things space related. This includes Star Wars as well as Star Trek. I am not under the philosophy you need to choose one. My philosophy is more along the line of the more sci-fi/space the better. With my love of Star Trek, I made a few prints in ode to the USS Enterprise, and TNGs love of Earl Grey tea. A little fan art never hurt anyone :)

in case you were wondering, you can buy these as prints or even pillows here: Society6: Buffy Rose

Paper Dolls

So I really love space, as well as paper dolls and the Circus, so I put them all together. I haven't finished this project, but it is called Lola goes to the circus. She is such a cute alien and loves to go on adventures, perhaps in the future she can go other places, like the zoo, or perhaps a museum haha. Here is a mock up of the project

This would be a potential page layout, the rest are more dresses and accessories that need color :)

Because I like it

So I have been on this Yeti kick for a while. I just think they are so cute, and the possibilities could be endless. Here is a quick sketch of Yolanda the Yeti going to a carnival.

If I finish something I will be sure to post it :)

midterm

So I just had my midterm for Drawing from the Masters class. We had to submit 3 master copies, and I chose to do work from John Tenniel, Charles Gibson, and Marc Davis. Here were my finished results...

Why not

Sometimes I feel like I have files dying on my computer, projects that I have created but never do anything with. This is how I feel about any of my Maya projects I created. So in hopes of not killing these files I decided to share them here. Nothing super amazing, but still something I spent my time on so I feel like they should live here :)

Laser guns are so much better with flowers

It is a lab (if you couldn't tell by the silhouette of my awesome bunsen burner)

I have more I will perhaps share at a later date

So I have a blog...

After owning a blog for about a month, I decided I should post something. So here it is my very first blog....

I was looking at vintage perfume ads today, and was inspired to do my own with a Gotham flair. Here are a few pictures of my work in progress. Hope you enjoy!
